Wonderful contributors

"If formal instruction is introduced too early, too intensely and too abstractly, the children may indeed learn the instructed knowledge and skills, but they may do so at the expense of the disposition to use them."
                                                                                      Lilian Katz

"Of course children benefit from positive feedback. But praise and rewards are not the only methods of reinforcement. More emphasis should be place on appreciation—reinforcement related explicitly and directly to the content of the child's interest and efforts."

                                                              Lilian Katz

"We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee."

                                                        Marian Wright Edelman

"If we think we have ours and don't owe any time or money or effort to help those left behind, then we are a part of the problem rather than the solution to the fraying social fabric that threatens all Americans."

                                                            Marian Wright Edelman

"It's not all about you, you've got to take your ego out of it, and think about what's best for the child."

MY CHILDHOOD WEB

MY LOVELY GRANDMOTHER!!!  THIS LADY IS SOOO AWESOME.  MY GRANDMOTHER RAISED ME FOR THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE.  ALTHOUGH SHE WANTED TO CONTINUE TO RAISE ME, MY MOTHER WANTED HER DAUGHTERS TO GROW UP TOGETHER INSTEAD OF BEING SEPARATED.  MY GRANNY IS A GODLY WOMAN WHO ALWAYS MADE SURE THAT HER CHILDREN WERE TAKEN CARE OF.  SHE IS SWEET AS PIE BUT SHE WILL CORRECT YOU IF YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT SOMETHING.  I LOVE MY GRANDMOTHER TO DEATH FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT SHE HAS ALWAYS HAD MY BACK WHEN I FELT UNLOVED OR NEGLECTED.  SHE TOOK ME UNDER HER WINGS AND MADE SURE THAT I WAS JUST AS HUMBLE AS SHE IS.  NOW EVERYONE TELLS ME I AM JUST LIKE MY GRANDMOTHER.  I WOULD NOT TRADE HER FOR THE WORLD.  MY GRANDMOTHER GOT DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER LAST YEAR WHICH TORE ME TO PIECES, BUT I THANK GOD SHE IS STILL WITH ME.
MY MOTHER, MS. FELICIA STEWART IS A PHENOMENOL WOMAN AS WELL.  WHEN I WAS THIRTEEN YEARS OF AGE, MY MOTHER AND FATHER GOT A DIVORCE.  ALTHOUGH MY MOTHER WAS EXTREMELY HURT, SHE NEVER LET MY SISTER AND I SEE HER BREAK DOWN.  SHE CONTINUED TAKING CARE OF US AND TAUGHT US THAT IN ORDER TO SURVIVE WE DON'T HAVE TO DEPEND ON MEN.   SHE HAS WORKED TO TWO AND THREE JOBS TO TAKE CARE OF US AND I RESPECT HER FOR NOT GIVING UP AND THAT WE MAY BE JUST AS STRONG AS SHE IS.  I LOVE YOU , MOM!!!

Stressing about time!!

I am having a hard time with time management.
gosh it has only been three weeks into this master's program and I have been rushing to do my work.  I hate rushing, it makes me nervous.  I figure that at work I would have time to do a small portion of my work but that still doesn't help!! And geesh moving to another does not make it better.  I just pray that it will get better with time.  Good night to all!!

You should study not only that you become a mother when your child is born, but also that you become a child.
Dogen Zenji

This statement is so true.  You have to become a child with children because it makes the relationship more loveable and entertaining.  You do not want to be a dull parent well I do not.  i love acting like a kid.  Brings so much joy to my life to see them happy

Down in the dumps!!

My little brother Carlin thinks he is my son.  Well he acts like he is my son.  We do everything together.  NOW that my daughter has came into the picture, I cannot give him all the attention he wants from me.  He gets so jealous to the point that he cries.  I love him to death but it is hard to get him to understand that I have a daughter and she occupies my time greatly.  How do I make the situation better?

Whew!!!

Just got finished with my paper.  I had a long day at work and when I made it home, my daughter acted like she had not seen me in years.  Boy o boy, kids,  just got to love them.  I hope this journey is the straight and narrow with a little bumps here and there, lol.  Got to get some rest, good nite to all!!

My DESIRE!!

Wow!! I am excited to say that I believe early childhood studies is the field for me.  I enjoy working around kids (even the at-risk ones) because they crack me up!!  You have the kids that think the know everything, as well as the kids who TELL everything (lol).  All of them are unique and the only thing that matters to me is that they are mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy and happy.  That is exactly why is chose early childhood.  We are not here to judge or point fingers.  I love showing the children love because they deserve it.  They just need that positive attention and good foundation.

Have a WONDERFUL day!!
